HISTORY
The Seven Gates of Hell is an urban legend that states if you go through every gate in order at midnight, upon passing through Gate 7, a portal to Hell will open and you will be greeted by “Hell Hounds.” Some say repeat the order in reverse ending with Gate 1 and then you will see the hounds or a portal will tear into reality so you can get a glimpse into the Lake of Fire. Most of the "gates" are decommissioned railroad bridges.

GATE 1
To get to Gate 1 take West Main Street in town and go East to Lebanon Road continue just outside of the town of Collinsville to Arnotti Lane. This gate is on the main road, no paranormal claims.

GATE 2
To get to Gate 2 make a left on Lockman Road (Lebanon Road goes right). Legends of this bridge include the story of an African American boy being chased by the KKK and hung at this bridge, also a man hung by his friend over a woman. Spirits of a man and child are seen. We found a spray painted ax figure on the ceiling.

GATE 3 and 4
Gates 3 and 4 are known as the Twin Gates as they are right next to each other. Stay on Lockman Road, when you come to a dip in the road make a right onto Longhi Road. There are claims of satanic rituals here. The house directly after Gate 4 is known as the Death House rumored to be haunted and satanic rituals performed here. We found a couple houses after Gate 4 so we are not sure which one it is.

This gate is quite a distance from Gate 4 and takes you into the country. Keep following Lockman Road which will turn back into Lebanon Road. Keep on Lebanon Road past Heck Road, Bohnenstiel Road, and Pense Acres. Make a left on S. Liberty Road.

S. Liberty Road will turn into W. Mill Creek Road, take that to the right for Gate 6. A ghost car is seen here.

GATE 7
Keep following W. Mill Creek Road over Scott-Troy/Troy-O’Fallon Road where it become E. Mill Creek Road. Watch for Blackjack Road and take it to the left. Look next for Bauer Road and take it to the right. Follow Bauer Road and it will take you to Gate 7. This is the gate where, if you have gone through all the gates in order at midnight, the gates to hell will open and let hell hounds escape.
